Not a good day, obviously. There's one thing I don't understand about terrorism. Did anyone ever give these people PR lessons? They were winning the war. Attacks far away in Iraq against soliders foreign diplomats are easy to forget, and plays to the anti-war crowd. The soliders wouldn't die if they weren't there, so bring them home, the anti-war advocates say.
And then they go and bomb soft targets like subway trains and buses. If there's a faster way to stiffen the resolve of anyone than an attack on a homeland, I don't know about it. These people aren't "freedom fighters" or trying to push foreign invaders out, obviously. They're executing attacks on innocent civillians. If these people are trying to get troops out of Iraq, they're going about it the wrong way.
Of course, that's assuming these people are rational. They probably just want to kill as many people as possible, both enemy and freinds, and they sure picked a good way to do that.
And London? Please, give me a break! We're talking about a city that endured decades of Provo bombings. The city that Adolf Freakin' Hitler couldn't bring to its knees. These guys are the pee-wee league comparativly speaking.
There's an idea. Maybe the Brittish Government should make a deal with the Provos. We'll give more autonomy to the Six Counties if you move your base of operations to Damascus or Tehran...whaddya say?
On a more upbeat note, I booked a Honeymoon today. Sara and I will be travelling to the Bahamas and Key West aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. I'm very much looking forward to that.
Enough for one night. Later all, and take care!
