FADE TO: Ext. – Day HOGWARTS ASTRONOMY TOWER
Long, broomstick shot zooms in on man standing on the tower, wearing simple black robes and looking very severe.
TOLLIVER ROCK
Hello, I’m Tolliver Rock. I’m standing on the Astronomy tower at Hogwarts Castle. In June of 1997, strange events unfolded here, events that still cannot be explained. There are still lingering questions concerning the death of Albus Dumbledore. Questions that both the Ministry, and Dumbledore’s most loyal followers, the Order of the Phoenix, don’t want answered. They don’t want you to ask these questions, because they don’t want you to find the answers. Join me, for an in-depth look at what really happened that night in 1997.
DISSOLVE TO:Int. – Night HOGWARTS CASLTE DAY
TOLLIVER ROCK
It was a dark night, that June day in 1997, when Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter returned from somewhere outside the school ground. Mr. Potter refused to be interviewed, and no one close to him would divulge any information. It is assumed that Mr. Potter was the only witness to the events that evening, but in fact, there were at least eight people on the Tower that evening. Albus Dumbledore, Draco Malfoy, Severus Snape, Harry Potter, and four Death Eaters. We have obtained, at great expense, a Pensive memory of that evening, from one Fenir Greyback. Let’s have a look
DISSOLVE TO:Ext. – Night HOGWARTS ASTRONOMY TOWER
"1997" The picture is grainy and indistinct. There are many shadows moving about. Even the hard features, like the castle ramparts, are fuzzy around the edges. Voices are talking
Amycus
We’ve got a problem Snape, the boy doesn’t seem to be able…
There is a shuffle and another voice
Dumbledore
Severus…
The scene shifts around and focus’s on Dumbledore’s shrunken form.
Dumbledore
Severus…please…
Snape’s voice
Avada Kedavra!
The scene is filled with bright green light, shattering night vision. Dumbledore tumbles backwards over the parapet. The scene freezes. Tolliver enters the frame at the edge.

Watch again, slowly.
The scene replays, slowly. Dumbledore pitches over the parapet again.
Tolliver
Notice the angle by which Dumbledore falls: Back and to the right. If he had been hit with a curse directly from Snape, he would have pitched forward first, and then to the left. And watch the edge of your screen just as the green fades. There is the slightest indication of a second spell residue.
The scene begins to replay as Tolliver speaks
Tolliver
Back and to the right. Back and to the right. And evidence of a second spell. But where did this second spell come from?
DISSOLVE TO:Ext. – Day HOGWARTS QUIDDITCH TOWER
TOLLIVER
From this point in the Hogwarts Quidditch stadium, there is a clear view of the astronomy tower, and it just so happens, that from this angle, a spell cast…
Tolliver casts a spell towards the astronomy tower, and the camera zooms in on the bolt. It hits a dummy perched on the tower, which pitches over the edge of the roof.
Tolliver
Back and to the right.
DISSOLVE TO:Ext. – Night HogWARTS ASTRONOMY TOWER
The Pensive memory is back. Tolliver speaks as it replays over and over.
Tolliver
Back and to the right. Back and to the right.
The scene finally freezes.
Tolliver
Who was perched in the Hogwarts Quidditch stadium that night? And for what purpose? And what spell was cast from there? Was it another killing curse? Or was it something else?
DISSOLVE TO: Ext. – Day HOGWARTS CASTLE
TOLLIVER
Which brings us to our next question. What really happened to Dumbledore? Testimony from witnesses on the scene say he was killed, but who actually saw the body? Oh yes, everyone saw a body on the day of the funeral, but the one that fell from the Astronomy tower? Only Harry Potter, and Rubeus Hagrid, two men, loyal to Dumbledore to the death. And why was there so much haste to the funeral? There was no formal autopsy, no formal inquest into Dumbledore’s death. Highly irregular. And the tomb itself…
The camera shifts to show Dumbeldore’s tomb over Tolliver’s shoulder
Tolliver
Completely impenetrable. The enchantments on it make it nearly impossible to open for examination. And what of the strange reports of seeing a phoenix in Dumbeldore’s funeral pyre? Very odd indeed. These questions may never be answered. But be assured, we will never stop looking.
FADE OUT.
I told you it was JFKish...tongue is firmly planted in cheek here people.
