And now for something completely different...

My good friend 

in_the_blue recently hosted a writing challenge in her journal, and I liked the idea so much, I decided to do one here. 

But I'm going to put my own twist on it, because I have this board game called "Moods", where you're supposed to act out a quote (drawn randomly) in a mood (also drawn randomly) and the other players have to guess the mood. We don't play much anymore (we don't hang out with big groups of people anymore), but I'm going to put the cards to use here.

If you want to play, respond to this entry. I will draw you a phrase and a mood card, and that will be your prompt. It's open to any fandom or original work that suits your fancy, and I figure between 250 and 500 words will do us nicely here.

Example of prompt: Quote: "Is there room at your table?" Mood: Bossy.

So if you received that, you would write your piece where the line "Is there room at your table?" is delivered in a bossy tone.

Some moods and quotes will match well, others will lend themselves to farce. It's up to you!
