Take me out to the Ball Game!

The Sox game last night rocked! Fenway was awesome.

Sara and I took the "T" into Boston from Sullivan Square, so we eliminated most of our travel headaches. The only hang up was having to wait niegh-on forever for the Orange Line out of town at the end of the evening.

Sox were playing the Reds, so was saw Ken Griffy Jr. Wanye Gretzky was in attendance, throwing out first pitches. Nobody hit any home runs, the wind was blowing STIFFLY in from the outfield. There were a bunch of doubles, which, if not for the wind, probably would have made their way out of the park.

Bronson Arroyo pitched a decent game, which is a good confidence builder for him, as he's been struggling as of late. Kevin Millar had a stellar night at first base, turning an unassisted double play by stabbing a line drive out of the air over his head, and then hoping over to tag first before the runner got back.

One of the highlights of the night though, was that Bob Kraft was in attendance. For the uneducated out there, Bob Kraft is a New England hero. He brought winning back to New England. He is a Sports Saint, cannonized by all New England.

Bob Kraft owns the New England Patriots.

He was sitting on the field just beyond the Red's dugout in the seats the Kraft family has held in Season tickets for years. (Even before Patriots fame). I probably could have beaned him with a good pitch from where we were sitting, and he got up and walked by us a couple times. Got a standing ovation every time he left his seat. Sara was off the ceiling. She's a much bigger football fan than a baseball fan, and being that close to the Best Owner In Football (note use of capital letters), was a big thrill for her. We tried to get a couple pictures as he walked by.

Anyway, Sox did win, 6-1, as the Reds served up another nice helping of confidence boosting batting practice. We followed the crowds out, and got back to Salem around midnight, at which point I had just enough time to catch 4 hours of sleep before going to work.

Work, as you might imagine, was a drag. But I survived, and I'm hoping to go to bed shortly.
